  • The one-on-one interview with Elise and her personal CPA was so enlightening. He was able to explain the top tax priorities in a way that I could truly put into context for my business. Before that interview, taxes were basically Greek to me and now I feel like I have a great starting point to get my business properly registered and off on the right foot.

Stop Moonlighting!

Has It Dawned On You…

…that you want to start a consulting business?

Are you tired of watching the last thirty minutes of your work week move slower than cold honey dripping from a jar?

Frustrated opening your eyes to emails that are sent before public transit opens…

and ending when your accidently reply “Thanks, you too!” to someone who declined a meeting request?

Desperate to check off those never-ending to-dos while you instead waste away at yet another all-staff meeting? (even the promise of free chips and soda can’t make you un-hear that boring department update)

Jumping like a fish out of water to quell that voice inside your head that’s screaming, “I know I have so much more to give both personally and professionally?”

Yup, I know it well and I hear it far too often from friends and colleagues. There are entirely too many people wishing they could create a more fulfilling life that better blends their two worlds: home and office.

Guess what, they can.

You can too.

Let’s not make this harder than it has to be.

You already want to consult – here’s why:

  • You’re nagging yourself more and more about the potential to start a consultancy than your Great Aunt wondering when you’ll finally get married and having kids. Let’s leave family drama aside and get to the heart of the matter – you want to learn tried and true methods, receive strategic advice, and follow actionable worksheets to help you accomplish this very goal. That’s why you’re still reading this page (hello!).
  • You’re as confident as a kitten strolling through a dog park! You understand well enough that your job security as a consultant is greater than that of a standard place of employment. Think about it, a simple downsizing could mean that your position is eliminated on any given day. With consulting, you can diversify your risk between different clients and product offerings. You smarty pants, you!
  • You consider yourself a multitasking maestro. You believe your weekend is best spent outlining your business plan in between binge-watching Stranger Things. It’s all about balance, people.

I’m Elise

I was you three years ago…

… tired of looking for my next big opportunity, and ready to create it myself. I had spent the beginning of my career learning the PR trade, and “paying my dues” as I began to climb the ladder. I thought I knew what I wanted from a career. I didn’t.

There was no company I felt that good about giving 60+ hours a week to. I had other ambitions that I knew couldn’t be relegated to only the weekends and pre-approved “vacation.” I had designs on professional development and dreams to start a family.

I knew I had to start a business in order to create that life for myself.

So, i set forth and spent an entire year researching, weighing the pros and cons, and meeting with mentors before deciding to launch my own consulting practice, ep communications, in 2014.

I probably would have launched in half the time if I had an online program to guide me.

So many of us delay this type of risk for fear that it won’t work, or concerns about our vulnerability and experience. I sure did.

But then one mentor said to me…

IF NOT NOW, WHEN?

I hope that shook you up like it did me.

The time is now! Don’t put off this life-changing move a second longer!

That’s why I developed The Savvy Soloist

…an easy-to-execute seven step program designed to take you from 9-5 boredom to 24/7 bliss. We’ll cover the following:

  1. Getting Started. Success will mean something different when you own a business. What is your motivation for starting one? Have you thought through all of the considerations that go into becoming comfortable with the decision?
  2. Budgeting. Budgeting is your best friend. Savvy consultants don’t strike out on their own without loads of preparation. Let’s make your rainy-day fund smile.
  3. Taxes. Your relationship with the IRS will change. Not only that, but there are rules you’ll need to know. It makes sense to seek a professional’s help. (Awesome news – in my course, we’ll spend twenty minutes on the phone with my personal CPA)
  4. Finding Clients. How in the world will you find clients? The good news is that just like with a job search, it’s easier to get clients when already you have one. I’ll let you in on my surefire secret to securing your first.
  5. Curating a Community. When your colleagues are your pets, you’ll need to define what community means, and perhaps start a new one.
  6. Biz Development. The essential step to maintaining a strong brand will be through continual business development. We’ll talk strategy here.
  7. Launch! Ready to launch a consulting practice with more boom that bust? We’ll walk through all of the steps.

Outside of the lessons themselves, I’ve included over a dozen worksheets, guides and scripts to help you put the lessons into practice.

Wait, there’s more!

You’ll also get:

  • Two EXTRA hours of interviews with entrepreneurs who have successfully launched their own consulting practices successfully. In case you grow tired of listening to my voice, or are looking for an extra dose of inspiration.
  • Rewards valuing over $400 for services you’ll actually need like branding, website platforms, social media scheduling and accounting support (high five!).

Don’t have the time?

Yep, you sure do.

You’ve heard stories of how successful people begin their days before dawn – how they find time to exercise, read, or make it home to the dinner table with their families.

It’s called prioritizing.

And now is the time to prioritize YOU.

Each of the seven lessons I provide includes mentoring, business acumen, and an intimate look into the actual steps I took myself to launch a successful consulting practice.

Crash course on your next free Sunday or perhaps challenge yourself to complete one lesson per day for the next week. The choice is yours. Give the new Snapchat filters a break.

Don’t think it’ll work?

Stop second-guessing yourself and repeat after me:

I DO have the experience to go out on my own!

I AM gutsy enough quit a “steady” job!

I ALREADY HAVE the organizational skills needed to make this venture a success!

I faced each and every one of those fears head on, and I’ve mentored many other professionals to do the same.

I can teach you, too.

You’ll never regret taking this leap of faith in yourself.

Don’t think you can afford the cost?

Yes you can!

It just takes a simple mindset shift. The truth is that you actually can afford things that serve to ultimately help you in the long run. It’s called investing in your future – but you knew that, didn’t you?

Be Budget Savvy

Smarty pants like you always find ways to make room for important purchases.

Consider:

  • Trading a few nights out over the next month for a bottle of two-buck Chuck while you practice your audition for Chopped. (Sidenote: ever wonder why your “well drinks” are so watery that it seems Dasani makes a commission? Think about it…)
  • Forgoing a month’s worth of Starbucks (drip-coffee for the win!)
  • Saying “no” to a few blowouts at Dry Bar or SoulCycle classes (ya look great, anyways)
  • You can also consider this your first business expense. As you’ll learn in Lesson 3, professional development and educational courses like this one are tax-deductible. Win!

Let’s Review.

  • This course is a perfect fit for individuals who:
  • Are questioning if they have enough experience to launch their own business.
  • Don’t have the time, energy or resources to piece together their own custom program.
  • Are looking for an affordable online solution that they can also write-off as a business expense.
